I am so excited about this fun way to teach bible verses. It’s never too early to help kids commit God’s word to memory. There are so many bible promises that we can teach little ones and it’s important that they see learning scripture in a fun way.  If you have been looking for ways to make teaching scripture fun and engaging, here is one more fun idea for helping your kids memorize scripture.

Create scripture crowns with the bible verse that kids are memorizing for the week.

You can create the crowns as an initial step to memorizing the verse  or create the crowns as a reward for memorizing the text. These can be used for young kids and big kids too.

This is a simple cut and paste activity that your kids can do. If kids have not yet memorized their text, you can have them use the bible as  a reference. Words have been simplified where necessary but many words have been kept the same to keep the full meaning of the text.

First thing to do is to print out the verse of the week on colorful paper.  I used Astrobrights but you can print on any fun paper type you choose.

Print the correct scripture crown. Each crown has the text on it so be sure to print the correct crown.

You can have the pieces pre-cut and placed in some type of storage if you are doing this activity for many children or you can have them just cut it all up themselves.

The words are not in  order so if they have not yet memorized the bible verse, have them look in the bible while they are putting it together. If the band for the back is too small for their heads, you can get creative and add a larger strip for the back or add two strips. Whatever works best for your little ones.

This sweet little guy loved wearing his crown.

Here are the bible verses selected. I adore these verses because they are so simple and can be explained to young children much easier than some of the other bible verses. My favorite is Psalm 119:105. That text just speaks to me. I really hope your kids enjoy this simple little activity. What is your favorite bible verse? Would love to hear from you. Let me know in the comments .
